DW Aviation's video: Easy Cruise Life Ship Tour

@Easy Cruise Life Ship Tour
Enjoy a tour aboard EasyCruise's last ever vessel, EasyCruise Life on board a cruise through the Greek Islands and Aegean Sea. (June 2009) EasyCruise was started by Stelios Haji-Ioannou, the founder of EasyJet. As his family had a background in shipping, he formed EasyCruise as a budget cruise line to mirror the success of his airline. EasyCruise was aimed at younger travellers that wanted to spend most of their time on-shore, seeking a "no-frills experience" on board the ship, rather than the traditional amenities of a large all-inclusive cruise ship. The ships in the EasyCruise fleet offered bare amenities, resulting in very cheap prices for cruises. Passengers would be required to pay for all additional services on-board, that would normally be included in the price of a cruise aboard traditional cruise lines. The ship positioned from port-to-port overnight to allow passengers to have the maximum amount of time in each port. In August 2009, EasyCruise Life, the final remaining ship in the fleet was sold to Hellenic Seaways. The operations of EasyCruise were quietly discontinued in 2010. The last ship, EasyCruise Life, was later sold to Blue Ocean Cruises to operate as Ocean Life in 2010. The ship was eventually sold for scrap in 2014. EasyCruise Life was originally built in 1981 in Poland as "Lev Tolstoy" for the Black Sea Shipping Company. As a cruise ship, it had a capacity of 550 passengers and 98 crew, operating at a service speed of 17 knots.
